What is the Battle of the Dylan Cover Bands?

The battle is an annual competition of artists around the world who perform the songs of singer/songwriter Bob Dylan. The Battle is entirely online - there's no physical event that you have to attend. You just upload your song, and we'll take it from there! Anyone, pro or amateur, can submit an entry for the Battle of the Dylan Cover Bands providing you meet the following requirements: (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!)
  1. You are performing a song that was written by Bob Dylan. (Sorry, no covers of Dylan covers)
  2. You have a broadcast quality recording of your performance in MP3 format
    (Preferably at least 192kbps stereo) NO OTHER FILE FORMAT WILL BE ACCEPTED!
  3. MP3s should be properly named in the format Artist Name - Song Title.mp3.
    For example "The Jim Joneses - Blowin In The Wind.mp3"
  4. You may only submit one (1) song per band/artist, so make sure it's your best.
  5. If you are a soloist who is also a band member, you may enter as both provided the names are different
  6. There is an entrance fee of $10 USD (Paypal/credit-card or mailed money order. Your entry fee also gets you access to a secret area of the website)
  7. If you were a contestent in last year's Battle, you are welcome to re-enter this year's battle provided you re-submit your entry & fee.
  8. All entries must be submitted on or before April 30th
How does the Battle work?
  1. All entries will be placed in a tournament-style competition
  2. In contrast to last year's competition, while users will still get to vote for thier favourites, the final results will be determined by our hand-picked panel of judges.
  3. Our three judges ARE human beings, however, so you should promote yourself and get as many votes as possible as it may sway some opinions!
  4. At the end of the competition, the glorious victors will be unvieled, but frankly, all the competitors win promotion and exposure to the Dylan fan community
What Do The Winners Win?
  1. Promotion, Promotion, Promotion! The winner will recieve focused promotion on both the DylanRadio.com broadcast and website, plus an episode of the DylanRadio.com Podcast dedicated entirely to your work.
  2. If that wasn't enough, the winner will also have their track added to the upcoming commercial release of Paradiddle Records' 2011 compilation "Bob Dylan Uncovered 2"
  3. Two runners up will also be made avalable on the Paradiddle Records featured download area.

The Paradiddle Fine Print: Paradiddle Records is a respected independent label who has already produced one exquisite volume of "Bob Dylan Uncovered" (which you can request in the songpool, by the way), so there's a little bit of fine print for the winner(s) related to the publishing. 1. The winning track must be of broadcast quality to be included on Bob Dylan Uncovered. If not the artist has the option of re-recording it at their expense. Paradiddle Records reserves the right to not include the winning track if it is not of suitable quality. // 2. In the event Bob Dylan Uncovered is delayed or not released Paradiddle Records has the right to replace this prize with one of equal value. // 3. Original tracks for inclusion of download must be original songs that the artist has rights to. The artist agrees to waive mechanical rights for the down loads. // 4. To be included in Bob Dylan Uncovered and in our promotional downloads the winning artists must agree to Paradiddle Records standard terms for artists inclusion in song compilations. By filling out the entry form, you are accepting these terms.
