People I talk to constantly hate on Dylan and my love for him, focusing mainly on his voice and sometimes for his surreal lyrics in the mid 60s...but the thing is, these people also love bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, etc., all who later used "surreal" lyrics! So much of The Beatles in my opinion was a rip off from Dylan..."Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," in '67, came two years after Dylan originally sang "To dance beneath the DIAMOND SKY, with one hand waving free, silhouetted by the sea..." I dunno, it's like Dylan created the magic of the surreal lyrics (though a lot of inspiration goes to Ginsberg and the Beats a decade earlier), but everyone else stole the concept and people hate on Dylan and love the others!

There's always people who tend to feel most comfortable doin' the dead man's float in the middle of the mainstream...

To each his own. all the performers mentioned have contributed so much to the world and humanity in general. People who hate usually got their own issues. Enjoy the love and the talent of the times because they are a changin.

Sara, I's talking 'bout those haters, not 'bout the bands mentioned. Just to make that clear.

Sara,
I say Dylan is the William Shakespeare of our times. His words glow like burning coal. Poets like that don't come along all that often. As for hatred ... well life's too short.
