We’re nearly halfway to our Patreon goal of $300/month to keep DylanRadio.com alive!  Thanks to the people who have already pledged their support!  If you can afford to help, please consider making a monthly pledge to help keep the music playing.  Don’t pledge the milk-money, mind you, only pledge what you wouldn’t miss in your monthly budget.  I’ve arranged a special little thank-you treat for Patreon supporters that puts the old video vault to shame, so be sure to email me at dj@dylanradio.com with your DR username after you make your Patreon pledge.

Bob Dylan in America

AudioBookBobDylanInAmerica

We’ve got a special little treat for you starting tonight!  Tune in at 8pm station time (7pm Eastern, 6pm Central, 4pm Pacific, 12am London, 11am Sydney) for the first of an 11-part audiobook series of “Bob Dylan in America” read by the author, Sean Wilentz.  As the jacket proclaims:

Sean Wilentz discovered Bob Dylan’s music as a teenager growing up in Greenwich Village. Now, almost half a century later, he revisits Dylan’s work with the skills of an eminent American historian as well as the passion of a fan.  Beginning with Dylan’s explosion onto the scene in 1961, Wilentz follows the emerging artist as he develops a body of work unique in America’s cultural history. Using his unprecedented access to studio tapes, recording notes, and rare photographs, he places Dylan’s music in the context of its time and offers a stunning critical appreciation of Dylan both as a songwriter and performer.

I hope you’ll enjoy this fascinating series.  Please leave your thoughts & comments here or on facebookYou can pick up your own copy of the book over at Amazon.com.

Now that the server crisis has been abated with a new web host, it’s the perfect time to update you on how to financially support DylanRadio.  With the constant need for these regular monthly bills, we’ve dropped PayPal and moved our donation system to Patreon, which allows you to become a regular patron of DylanRadio and help us keep those monthly bandwidth bills paid.  Who knows?!  If we get enough regular, monthly support, some expansion might be in order!  I’ve been eyeballing a mixer/mic setup to start doing more live on-air stuff… maybe even take some Skype calls.  We shall see, but, as always, everything depends on you, the fans.  Every time I start to worry about the bills, you guys always prove that I’m an idiot for worrying, so I hope you’ll please consider becoming a regular patron of DylanRadio.com, and click here to head on over to the Patreon page.
